What is Astym?
Astym is an effective, noninvasive treatment that heals complex musculoskeletal conditions from the inside out. By utilizing this protocol, we engage the body's restorative mechanisms to stimulate healing and rebuild soft tissue. As an Astym Certified provider, Kalin uses FDA-registered medical instruments to locate and treat scar tissue, tendinosis, joint pain, muscle strains.
Does dry needling hurt?
While the intention of dry needling is often to decrease muscular tightness, increase blood flow and repair to the affected area, and reduce overall pain, sometimes the treatment itself can be a little uncomfortable. When the small, acupuncture-sized needles work to stimulate a healing response, you may feel twitching or cramping in the muscle belly (but hang in there, it's often followed by amazing relief).
